5. Roy Hodgson

Roy Hodgson is the manager of Crystal Palace although he once failed to make it into Crystal Palace’s first team. After the rejection of Crystal Palace, Roy Hodgson participated and completed the training to become a fully qualified coach at the age of 23. Upon holding the license, Roy started his coaching career at Maidstone United, serving as assistant manager to Bob Houghton whom he learned many wisdom from.

After his time in Maidstone, he has coached many other famous clubs such as Fulham, Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion, at the same time managing the national teams of Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, Finland and, England. Despite his lack of experience playing professionally, he gained tremendous success. One of the greatest being manager of Fulham, when he led the team to the Europa League final in 2010.

4. Andre Villas-Boas

Andre Villas- Boas always seemed destined for great things since he showed great potential while being assistant to Bobby Robson at Porto. He earned his coaching qualifications while working at Porto then serving as Jose Mourinho’s assistant coach. Villas-Boas determined to pursue a career as a football manager and got a job in the Primeira Liga with Academica de Coimbra at the start of 2009/10 season. During which, he turned the team into a solid club before joining Porto. The mean led Porto team to win the league and cup double and the Europa League in only one season. After this huge success, he head to Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, respectively.
